Breakouts suck, I know. What I always think about is how something so small can ruin a whole weekend! Everyone suffers from a breakout every once in awhile, some more/less than others. The commonplace here is that treating the breakout and still applying makeup can be the tricky part. So I will share a cleanser to help prevent breakouts, a product to help treat and heal the breakout overnight, and a product to help cover the breakout efficiently. There are so many things you can do to prevent and heal blemishes but here is my go-to 3 step routine.
My favorite acne cleanser is the Formula 10.0.6 Best Face Forward Daily Foaming Cleanser. Formula 10.0.6 is still one of my all-time favorite skincare brands because of the quality and price of the products. This cleanser has green tea which for me is very effective on breakouts.
My go-to for awhile now has been the Clinique Emergency Gel Lotion. This is my favorite because it has 5% benzoyl peroxide to treat verse salicylic acid. I have had horrible drying experiences with salicylic acid while I haven’t had any issues with the benzoyl peroxide. I put a generous amount of this on with a q-tip before bed and it is always at least a little better, if not gone, by morning.
Concealers That Heal
Clinique’s Acne Solutions Clearing Concealer is a fabulous concealer with salicylic acid that goes on and stays all day. The only issue is the price so you can also opt for the Neutrogena Skin Clearing Blemish Concealer for (if on sale) about half the price. If you want to stay away from using another product with salicylic acid Boo-Boo Cover-up is an awesome concealer with tea tree oil to help heal your blemish. With any of these, I recommend using a clean finger or q-tip to dab onto blemish and then blend with a clean finger as well. You want to keep all of these products as sanitary as possible to prevent worsening the blemish.
